Eyes on the Goals: UN Launches Digital Series To Kick off New Decade of SDG Action

With 2030 just ten years away, it’s more important than ever for governments, civil society, businesses, and people to get behind the Global Goals.

To that end, the United Nations just officially launched its Decade of Action for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), an international advocacy push starting in 2020 that calls for accelerating sustainable solutions to all the world’s biggest challenges – from poverty and gender to climate change and inequality – before the clock runs out.

We’re posting here today to help spread the word, and invite you to scroll through seven video shorts that debuted this week to help highlight the effort.

Contributors to this new #GlobalGoals film series include Emmy-Award winning actor Rainn Wilson, American goalkeeper Hope Solo, Australian wildlife photographer Robert Irwin, and others. We’ll let you be the judge of who’s message resonates with you the most.

1. Rainn Wilson: Goal 4 – Quality Education

2. Hope Solo: Goal 5 – Gender Equality

3. Robert Irwin: Goal 15 – Life on Land

4. Josh Horton: Goal 6 – Clean Water & Sanitation

5. AJR: Goal 17 – Partnerships

6. Sean Lew: Goal 1 – No Poverty

7. Michael Johnson: Goal 10 – Reduced Inequalities
