Where did you work before joining the Trollbäck team?
What drives you to create?
That excitement you feel when you see what you’re capable of making.
What tools/software do you enjoy working with?
I’m a big fan & user of the Adobe Creative Suite and C4D. The uses for these programs are so vast that it fuels the creative process, there’s always something new to learn. But struggling to know how to use these programs can also feel a little limiting at times. That’s why I also love working in traditional studio arts.
What does design mean to you?
It’s an expression of your tastes and sensibilities.
What’s your favorite part of the design/production process? What’s the hardest?
The best part is the collaboration, working together to create something. The hardest is not taking it personally when something you’ve created isn’t well received.
Last year, you participated in “FACEOFF: The AfterEffects Challenge” at Motion Conference. You had 60 minutes to create a short motion graphics piece, on stage, in front of a live audience. What was that like?
It was a really fun and quick experience. You can tie it to Einstein’s theory of relativity: designing and animating within an hour felt like a minute.
What are some books/blogs/publications that inspire you?
I’ve been really influenced by podcasts lately. A good podcast gives me the same feels as a good book or movie. The most recent podcast I listened to was S-town. Very inspiring method of storytelling.
You’re hosting a dinner party with friends and can invite any person living or dead. Who’s coming?
I would invite Robin Williams. It would be insightful to meet someone who could lift so many spirits.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I practice Krav Maga. It’s mixed martial arts/self-defense training.
